AIIMS Patna, officially known as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna, is an autonomous public medical college and hospital located in Phulwari Sharif, Patna, Bihar. Established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), the foundation stone was laid in 2004, and the institute became operational in 2012. It is one of the Institutes of National Importance in India, operating autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The institute offers MBBS, MD/MS, DM, MCh, and other health science programs, with a focus on academic excellence and quality healthcare. AIIMS Patna is situated on a sprawling campus of 134 acres, comprising the main medical college campus on 100 acres and residential facilities on 34 acres. The hospital is equipped with 1331 beds, including 28 modular operation theatres, and offers specialized services in cardiology, neurology, oncology, nephrology, and more. AIIMS Patna is consistently ranked among the top medical institutions in India, securing the 27th position in the NIRF 2025 rankings and the 20th position in India Today 2024 Medical rankings.

Admission Requirements

For MBBS, eligibility requires passing the 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with at least 60% marks and qualifying through the NEET UG exam. For MD/MS, you must have an MBBS degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) and clear the INI CET entrance exam. For B.Sc.Nursing program, you must have passed 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, and meet the minimum percentage requirement (55% for General, 50% for SC/ST). For the M.Sc. Nursing program, you need a B.Sc. Nursing degree and must have secured at least 60% marks in the qualifying exam (55% for SC/ST).
